The Valley of Five Polish Ponds is a stunning area within the Tatra National Park, known for its postglacial formations, including several beautiful ponds and the impressive Siklawa waterfall. The largest pond, Wielki Staw, is the longest and deepest lake in the entire Tatra mountain chain. During this hike, you’ll be captivated by the natural beauty of the landscape, including the cascading waterfalls and picturesque scenery. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the highest situated shelter in Poland at 1670 meters above sea level. This tour is suitable for nature enthusiasts and hikers of various skill levels.

Tour Itinerary:

  1. Hotel pick-up in Zakopane at your chosen time.
  2. Up to a 30-minute drive to the parking area in Palenica Bialczanska.
  3. Entrance to the Tatra National Park.
  4. Approximately 45 minutes of hiking along the red trail from Palenica Bialczanska to Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza, a complex of waterfalls.
  5. Approximately 2.5 hours of hiking along the green and then blue trail from Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza to the Roztoka Valley, Wielka Siklawa, and finally, Dolina Pieciu Stawow Polskich (The Valley of Five Polish Ponds). Wielka Siklawa is a remarkable 70-meter-high waterfall.
  6. Approximately 45 minutes of free time at the shelter in the destination for rest and refreshments.
  7. Approximately 3 to 3.5 hours of walking back along the same trails to the starting point.
  8. Up to a 30-minute drive back from Palenica Bialczanska to the city center.
  9. Hotel drop-off in Zakopane.

  • It is recommended to bring a raincoat, comfortable shoes, and clothes in case of unexpected weather changes.
  • In winter, the Siklawa waterfall may be bypassed due to safety concerns related to icy conditions.
